A different federal contractor receives payments at a P.O. box and sends files with payment information to MOHELA for processing.
MOHELA does not control the P.O. box where mailed payments are sent. The monies go to the federal government.
More specifically, as to the money, any payments you make, including origination fees, interest, and other fees you pay go to the
U.S. Department of Education, not to MOHELA. MOHELA does not retain any portion of your loan payments. We're here solely to help
you manage your federal student loan repayment.
(Although refund requests are initiated through MOHELA, the refunds ultimately come from the federal government.)
