During the last year, MOHELA has received one million borrower accounts through our contract with the Department of Education. Whenever a loan is transferred between servicers, we understand the anxiety this move may create.

During the movement of loan accounts from one servicer to another, data may not transfer completely, or a borrower may not recognize information on the new servicer’s system. Not all information and services load to our system at the same time. For example, it may take a couple of months for all payments to be sent to MOHELA or to begin showing up on our system. What’s important is that you continue to make your regularly scheduled payments, but you will need to update your account information and begin sending payments to MOHELA rather than your previous servicer.
